With the overwhelming amounts of research and ever-changing technologies over the last few years it's only assumed that new mechanical products will revolutionize with time. From the research I have read and seen on the topic of vaping & the use of e-cigarettes is that the research is lacking but many cases of damage have been reported. Although I am standing at an unbiased view while posting articles and education on this current and relevant topic - it can be evidently found so far that there is an immense amount of concerns and questions revolving around these topics.

Professionals, doctors and researchers are doing their best to provide their research and complete what they can for the sake of future research that will be done in the years to come. I'm doing my best to post clinical trials or any information I can find pertaining to the metals, substance and/or any grey areas I can find - you are a health professional to, maybe you can be doing an oral health study on the effects of vaping if you have some individuals you know who "vape" and or use e-cigarettes. Never stop learning and don't forget to ask about e-cigarettes as the world changes so does the technology - documentation is key! You won't know without asking.
E-cigarette aerosols have similar physio-chemical properties as high-sucrose, gelatinous candies and acidic drinks. Data suggests that the combination of the viscosity of e-liquids and some classes of chemicals in sweet flavours may increase the risk of cariogenic potential.
The risks associated with being more attractive to the younger individuals and age group is the prime problem with this, even stating in the OH CANADA Health magazine that younger people are finding these easier to hide from their parents, adults.. etc - chronic problems and or research will be conducted - but I wonder the results!
Overall, the limited toxicology data on e-cigarettes/vapour in the public domain is insufficient to allow a thorough toxicological evaluation of this new type of tobacco product. In the future, the acquisition of scientific datasets that are derived from scientifically robust standard testing paradigms, include comprehensive chemical characterization of the aerosol, provide information on users’ toxicant exposure levels, and from studies replicated by independent researchers will improve the scientific community's ability to perform robust toxicological evaluations of e-cigarettes.
As of January 14, 2020 16 cases of vaping-associated lung illness have been reported to the Public Health Agency of Canada. Also important information I have concluded from my research is that the "vape cloud" that everyone is perceiving (with lack of education) as "less harmful" and isn't "exposing the user to all toxins found in regular cigarettes" is a misunderstanding. The "cloud" is NOT water based and does contain harmful toxins - it's an aerosol which contains nicotine as well as ultra-fine particles of toxins, vitamin E acetate (mainly in THC vaping products) and heavy metals.

Really appreciate the breakdown of the pros and cons of vaping. Maybe I’ll check out a vape shop in Ottawa to explore more.
